The data is heartbreaking and catalyzing: 1 billion children worldwide aged 2-17 have been abused (physically / sexually / emotionally / online) in the past year. In such a vulnerable childhood and adolescence traumas are caused that plague the lives of the individuals in adulthood. This fact alone speaks for less theory and more immediate action.

How can one recognise the different forms of violence?
After recognising signs of violence, what is the next step?
If I am a doctor, how can I help and / or complain?
If I am a teacher, how can I help and / or complain?
If I am a friend of the abused child and they have asked me to keep it a secret, what should I do?
What are the steps I should take and what should I do if I suspect that a child is being abused?

The Spyros Loverdos Foundation and Library is a unique historical, architectural and cultural landmark. It was built in the '30s, designed by the great philhellene Ernst Ziller, and houses a rich collection of rare books, as well as the crème de la crème collection of Byzantine icons of Spyros Loverdos' brother, Dionysios. After a long period of inaction, the building is now revived and regenerated, and has reopened as an aesthete and eclectic venue.
