Apostolos Apostolakis was born in Athens, grew up in Nea Smyrni and studied civil engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. He’s been interested in business since the first year of school when he first became involved in technology, co-founding e-shop, the first e-commerce store in Greece.
He continued his studies at Columbia Business School and then worked for a while at Boston Consulting, but he finally chose the path of entrepreneurship. Then, he was back in the e-shop business and from there he entered dynamically in the field of Greek startups.
His name is the title of the most famous success stories. He was one of the co-founders of taxibeat, e-food and doctoranytime, while as an investor he has helped several startups in Greece such as e-table, nannuka, douleutaras, spotawheel, blueground, funkmartini and many more.
In 2015 he co-founded Venture Friends, which came to support Greek entrepreneurship, with the most typical example being the case of Instashop which evolved into the largest acquisition of a Greek start-up company ever.
